Home Comforts

We aim to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay in pleasant surroundings. Grove Villa has splendid views of the River Dee, and is located only a short stroll from the city centre.

As we are a small B&B, we are able to provide a personal and welcoming service to our guests.

Grove Villa is furnished and decorated to a high standard using antique furniture and pictures to enhance its original Victorian charm.

My friend and I have been staying at Grove Villa for many years and it just gets better. Sharing Jane and Peter’s beautiful home is such a wonderful experience. They are both perfect hosts in every way.
Set by the River it is just a short walk into Chester so ladies out and about on their own on an evening feel safe. Not too far to carry the shopping during the day!!
The bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated but still retain a lovely cosy feel. Breakfast menu is varied something for everyone and cooked to perfection. We hope to return again soon.

Grove villa is a beautiful home just by the river Dee. The hosts were helpful and friendly, breakfast really good, and a lovely view of the river. The house is full of period furniture, in keeping with the age of the property. Everything to the highest standard. Just a short walk into the city centre, either along the river or through the local park. All in all the perfect place for a stay in this lovely city.

My sister & I stayed here for 4 days in May. The B&B is charming with a lovely view of the riverside. We were happy to find a room during the races, an event we didn’t know about. It was a short, scenic walk into the town centre and we enjoyed passing the Roman amphitheatre and gardens every day. B&B proprietors were very helpful.

We strolled along the riverside and noticed the B & B sign and a Lady in the garden. Jane showed us the only room she had available and we were delighted to find such a nice place to stay especially on a bank holiday. Tastefully decorated ,and with views to die for of the river, both Jane and her husband Peter were so accommodating and helpful, a great breakfast, We had a marvellous time and rate this stay very highly.

My wife and I had stayed at Grove Villa many years ago and decided to stay there last weekend. Our friends joined us on the trip.
The house itself was built in 1835 and has been improved over the years to a very high standard, with three very comfortable ensuite rooms.
The welcome you get from Jane and Peter is second to none. Everything has been thought of. We all enjoyed our ‘Full English’ breakfast on both days.
The house is really ideally situated for visiting the city, with its famous wall walk only minutes away. The view from our room (No 2) looked out over the river Dee.
What a boon to have parking provided in a city where parking is neither cheap nor easy.
I must say that we all thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Grove Villa is also very good value.
